H. Grady Brown has been practicing law in Beaufort County, South Carolina and the South Carolina Low Country in both state and federal courts since 1979. For eight years he practiced with and was a partner in the Dowling Law Firm in Beaufort, South Carolina at a time when it was one of the largest law firms in the State of South Carolina. Thereafter, he joined the firm of Harvey & Battey, P.A., in Beaufort, South Carolina where he was a partner for thirteen years.

In March, 2002, Grady started his own firm, H. Grady Brown, P.A. Grady is experienced in handling complex and complicated divorces, child custody matters and all other matters associated with family law. He is also experienced in handling difficult wrongful death, car wreck and products liability cases. Grady is a Certified Family Court Mediator.

Grady was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1979. He was admitted to the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina in 1980 and the United States Court of Appeals, 4th Circuit, in 1981. He received his law degree from St. Louis University in 1979 and his undergraduate degree from Clemson University in 1976.

Grady has served as an officer of the Beaufort County Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, South Carolina Trial Lawyer's Association and is a former council member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the South Carolina Bar. He also formerly served as an Attorney to Assist the Office of Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Bar.

Grady was a former board member of the South Carolina Council for Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution and is a former President of the Sea Island Mediation Network covering Beaufort and Jasper County.

Grady was born in Columbia, South Carolina on September 10, 1954. He is married to Nancy Hurst Brown. Together, they have one child and three grandchildren.
